Those Who Hope in The Lord Are Strong: Isaiah 40:31 27

Why would you ever complain, O Jacob, or, whine, Israel, saying, "God has lost track of me. He doesn't care what happens to me"? Don't you know anything? Haven't you been listening? God doesn't come and go. God lasts. He's Creator of all you can see or imagine. He doesn't get tired out, doesn't pause to catch his breath. And he knows everything, inside and out. He energizes those who get tired, gives fresh strength to dropouts. For even young people tire and drop out, young folk in their prime stumble and fall. But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, They run and don't get tired, they walk and don't lag behind.

Tim Tebow's Fire

This morning I heard the John Parr remake that sings "Tim Tebow's Fire burning in me."

Now, it seems Tebow is a "love him or hate him" kind of guy; I don't know many who are like, "Eh, whatever." They either love the guy, or he's a stain on the name of football (or Christianity, or both, depending on who you're talking to).

But I was thinking, nobody's ever wrote a song about the fire burning in me. No one has spoken out about my faith or my God because of me (that I know of, at least). Does my light shine in a way that makes people want to say ANYTHING about me, or the God I serve?

Love him or hate him, people are talking about Tebow and the God he claims to serve. And whether I believe him or not, he is pointing to the same God I strive to serve. Do I point to God the same way he does? Do I stand out when push comes to shove? Do I let my light shine so that others will see it and praise my Father in heaven?

Do you?

Will You? Do You?

I will do more than belong -
I will participate.
I will do more than care -
I will help.
I will do more than believe -
I will practice.
I will do more than be fair -
I will be kind.
I will do more than forgive -
I will forget.
I will do more than dream -
I will work.
I will do more than teach -
I will inspire.
I will do more than earn -
I will enrich.
I will do more than give -
I will serve.
I will do more than live -
I will grow.
I will do more than suffer -
I will triumph.

Uniquely You

" 'I know the plans I have for you,' says the LORD. 'They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.' "
Jeremiah 29:11

How would you live differently if you really believed that God had intentionally designed you to impact others? What steps of faith would you take if you knew He had already planned them? What would you attempt if you were fully convinced that He was backing you? Would you set out to accomplish big things in your community? Would you go into the local schools with a sense of intention? The fact is when you believe you were designed with a purpose, you will live with a purpose.

For The Right Reasons

"Jesus summons men to follow him not as a teacher or a pattern of the good life, but as the Christ, the Son of God." Dietrich Bonhoeffer, "The Cost Of Discipleship"
